Second semester reflections:

Well, if I pass all my classmathes this semester could by the last for my. This year it should graduate. I feel the time pass so fast, is like all the years in the university had passed in just a couple of months.

It is really emotive, I close one important part of my life, to continue with new knowledge and a lot of great and bad expiriences.

Definitely this was the best part of my all life, I met a lot of beatifull and importants Friends, the best of all. The experiences with they was really rewarding.

This is one of my wins, this is for Maximo and my. I hope can study another career in Argentina in a couple of years, something like  philosophy or anthropology.

It is not the end, if not the start of a new stage in my life, the new beginning for my in a different places, where I hope have experiences that contribute to my professional development.

In two semesters I pass thirteen different subjects, a lot of time studying  and working for finish this part of my life. It is really rewarding for my, all my effort it´s done!

How Green are you?

In my family is really important the environment. We try to care our Word doing littles acctions for contribute to protecting the environment. We recycle glass, plastic and cardboard, once a month we carry to the collection center.

Also we have a vegetable garden with chard, tomato, pumpkin, potato, garlic, lettuce. And we have fruit trees such as peach,apricot and avocado. To keep our production we do humus with worms, this contributes to plant growth.

Another acción thay help to the environment is ride my bicycle,  I don´t use car or the transantiago, because produces polution. This acction help me to do more exercise for keep the line.

I know that this is not enough to save the Word, but with this little grain of sand help to the future generations to have conscience aboute the universo and our conection whit them.

This is important for the development of the humanity, because there only exist one Word that we can live in all the universe, this Word it will be made for us, so is our responsability care this beautifull place, in where we and the future generations going to live.

I hope that you help to save the Word contribute whit Little acctions of conscience.

A day I will always remember

definitely the most important, special and magic day of my all life was tree years ago, on may 27 , 2012. I wait for that day 9 months, that day born the most important person in my life, my son Maximo Guerrero Bravo. 

I remember the night before de childbirth it was impossible sleep, in the next morning, tired and whit fear, at 9 am I was hospitalizated, in the wait I was accompanied by my mom, and my ex boyfriend. 

at 12 am the nurse traslate me to surgery,I never have been so nervuis, all my body feel sick, afte 30 minutes of surgery Maximo born safe and healty, the first crying make me the happiest woman in the world, I cry for emotion like a little beby, the doctors, nurce and assintent try to calm me, because I have been moving mi body unconsciously. 

Then we up to our bed and my family finally met Maximo, all was happyness and celebration that day.

After six hours I finally can get up and walk, At first I was afraid to walk upright, because I felt that the wound could be opened anytime.

My future job

This summer I will work on natural products store in the beach El Tabo.  The store will by located in the downtown  and near  of my grandfathers house, where I,m going to live at first. We will sell al Kind of nature products  like nuts, dried fruts, medicinal herbs, seedlings and supplings for growing  plants.

It is  my first adminístrative work, because I' m going to work alone , I have to by in charge of all the bussines , since atendd the clients to clean the store. The  bad part of work in the beach on summer is that is full of people everywhere.

The netx year I'm going to sacrificate my vacations, but This providencia my a lot of money.

If my business is profitable I'm going to keep open all the year 2016 , this way I can live in the beach, build my house and work on my Thesis.

I hope can stay in there for a couple of years to find more calm and tranquility for  me and my family. Also I want to start a workshop Whit anothers artist from the place to promote cultural development in the area.

When I was a child draw and play whit clay, then expose to later be sold. My cousin help me to make marketing and my parents, uncles and grandparents bought my artwork. I remember buying a lot of candies and junk food whit my cousin, it was really funny and productive for us.

Since that time I love arts, in the high school have a really good art teacher, he taught me engraving , photography whit a pinhole camera and how use the oil paint. All that experience whit the art make me love it.

I am in the experimental workshop, in there I make arts installations whit different forged objects made by me. I work whit metal and wood, using this old techniques I reflect about the use of the technology in our life, like the time that we pass seeing viral videos on the Internet, or the reduction of the sexuality by the pornography and the creation of sexual parameters established by the capitalism to be consumed as a product.

I don't know what will have the future for my, I hope can continue whit the installations, learn new techniques, and sensitize people to do his life less virtual and more real.

The best and the worst film

 I have a lot of favorite movies, but one worth noting is “El dia de la bestia” directed by the Spanish Alex de la Iglesia. This film is a horror-comedy released in 1995 It tells the story of a priest who discovered that the Bible says that the Antichrist will be born in Madrid on december 25, 1995, near of that date the priest try contact with the devil to save the world from apocalypse.

In the intent to approach whith devil, the priest meets a fan of dead metal, how help them to find the place where the birth of the Antichrist would happen. They look for help in a host of a TV show of secret sciences who claimed to have invoked the devil, the three fight for save the word from de apocalypse.

I really like this movie because is really funny and make me laught a lot.

The movie that I hate is Titanic, its so romantic, long a bored, in all moment you know what is goin to happen, is tragic and sad, it make my sick.

A song that has a special meaning
This song is from a band called The Pasmatics, and his name is "Brain Dead". This is a hadcore punk US band, was founded in 1978, by Wendy o Williams ( an stripper) and Rob Swenson an Anti-artist. This band was very controversial, they broke with American culture, his performances were out of this world, the spectators felt the rage of the message in the lyrics of his songs. On the stage Wendy with a small leather suit destroyed guitars, amplifiers, televisions,once exploded a car that was on stage.

The lyric talks about the human condition that in that times product of the bad education generates superflual persons, they do not question and just follow orders. They are using the metaphor of the brain dead to refer this kind of people. They also refer to the production of soldiers for war, minded to give his life for the nation of US.
I like this song because I hate the war, that stupid feeling of nation, behind which is oculted economic interests of businessmen. They make wars to increase his money at the expense of the lives of others.

An artist that I admire

His name is Jose Guadalupe Posada he was a Mexican artist how lived during 1852 and 1913. He was kwnoun for his ilustrations, engravings and cartoons, his works ilustrate the popular culture of mexico, and mixed with social critique. He was considered a popular artist which showed since everyday life to the political affairs of Mexico.

His best known work was asosiated whit the popular celebratione knonw as Dia de los muertos, which is celebrated on 1 and 2 November. that days
people share with their dead in cemeteries. This artist celebrated dead,
using as reference the skull. To my is interesting that conception of the dead, and the relation whit the life. And he was creator of a new eaesthetics which makes a mixed the dead and the culture of his country.
 
To my his best work was the Catrina or Calavera garbancera, this was a copperplate engraving. In this work he refers to a type of person who appeared to be rich still poor, because of that the skeleton is only dressed with an elegant hat.
 
He is one of my favorite artist, I hope that enjoy his work.
 

The best holidays I ve had:

My best holidays was the last year. I have the best and most deserved vacation of my life. My friend Rose and I we went backpacking at Oruro Carnival in Bolivia, we stopped at Punta de Choros, there we camped two nights on the beach away from everything. Continued our journey to the city of Iquique, in there we was resived by a friend of Rose. We pass one night in Iquique, that night we went to the beach for drink beer and eat fries.

 

The next day in the morning we bought a bus ticket to Oruro, We traveled all that day and we got to the city that nigth. That night find a room to stay, the place was in the city center near the route of the carnival. We rest that night and the next morning that starts the Carnival.

 

 

The following days were colors, music and carnival. All kinds of characters celebrating and enjoying the music invaded the city with its happiness.

 

I think those were my best holidays for many reasons,but the most important it was my first vacation since I am a mother, so I get lots of rest.

 Republic of India.

 

 

Some day when I have a lot of money, I will travel to Republic of India. This country is rich in culture and landscapes, and hes local food is really delicious. It is also a country whit a lot of populations, where are different kinds of religions.



 

 

The Thart desert and Himalayas are a wonderful landscapes, their beauty is something that intrigues me. I think that this kind of places have certain magic and spirituality, that makes man more aware of the universe.

 

 

Another places that I will like visit is the Taj Mahal, this pieces of the architecture it was built by the emperor Shan Jahan , in honor of his wife when she died giving birth to one of his sons. A romantic and tragic  history who built this places of dreams.

                                                                

My name is Valentina Bravo, I was born july 28,1992. in Viña del mar. All my family was from the litoral of Chile.


In my childhood I lived in El Tabo , a little city an hour and a half from Santiago. I remember playing on the beach whit my coussins, and crossing hills and gorges whit my granmother, she was the best baker in El tabo, his cakes and cookies they have been the best that I have eaten in my life.

Whit the years my family come to Santiago, and I life here from there. Upon after my graduation in the school, I began to study arts in 2011, the followin year I became a mother, his name is Maximo Guerrero Bravo, the best of my life. I take a year for dedicate to raising my son.

I returned after a year to finish my arts studies. This is my last year, and when I finish the university my son and I go to live to El Tabo.

In my free time I love coocking, listening music and play with my son.

Joel-Peter Witkin is an American photographer, he was born in Brooklin, New York in September 1939. He's work was marked by a car accident that he saw when he was a child, in that accident he saw how a little girl was beheaded very close to him.

 

He admired the artist Gioto,because we can see it in he's work a small reference of the renacents art. In he's works is recurrent see themes like death, sex, corpes, people whit physical deformities, hermaphrodites, transexsual, trasgender and midgets.

 

In the treatment of the photography he came close to Painting, staining and crossing the image, giving to the picture visual properties of paiting. Most of he's work look back on Blible passages and famous painting, for that reason his work was be transgressive with traditional arts.

I like his work because it is really creepy ,and a love all the creepy things. I enjoy watching terror movies of all kinds, zombies, ghost, demonic possession, monsters, UFO and gore, and thist artist in some where make me enjoy the horror if his feels.

This picture was taked in  the carnival of Oruro, this city is located in Bolivia. my friend Rose and I went to the carnival for vacations, we had a fantastic journing  to the north, our adventure take two weeks and have a great experience.

We stayed two days camping in the beach in the midle of the dessert near a small crick ( caleta) called Punta de choros, a beautiful place, were the stars were incredible, we had a pachamama experience.
 

We continue our journey to iquique, there pass one night, to the next day cross the border to Bolivia and the go to Oruro.

 After three hours in the bus we arrived, we stayed in a hostal, whit another two friends, these picture whas taken the first night in Oruro inside the room. We put the camera over the pack and take the picture automatically.

We pass a incredible experience in that place, full of colors , music and dancing, I

 hope can go in the future whit my son and show the magic of this beautiful festival.

 

My favorite repice for cooking for my family is pancakes. It's very easy and fast to do. I always do this recipe with my son, he is the best kitchen assistant. My little brother loves the pancakes, sometime he eats eight pancakes, so when I do this recipe I make a lot of pancakes.



The ingredients for this delicious repice are:



- tree cups of flour.
- tree eggs.
- one cup of milk.
- one tea spoon of baken power.
- tree table spoon of sugar.
The first step is to mix the eggs with milk and shake. Afther that add the flour slowly, this way the mixture gets more fluffy. Then you add the sugar and the baking powder.
When you have all the ingredients mixed, put a teflon skillet with a little oil. wait two minutes and put on one scoop of the mix. This part of the recipe is very important, the cook time is very fast, no more than two minutes per side. Do this with all de mixture.
You can add different kind of things, sometimes I add creamy fudge  or strawberry jam.
Or you can add a vegetable filling. I make one with spinach and white sauce, this is the favorite of my mom, she always begging my to do for lunch.



The ingredients for this vegetable filling are:
- two cup of spinach.
-two garlics clovers.
-a half cup of onion.
-white sauce.



For the white sauce you need:
- two cup of milk
- a half cup of cornflour.
-two table spoon of butter.
- a touch of nutmeg.
- salt.



First cook all the vegetables with watter and mince. In a pan mix the ingredients of the white sauce an cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. When this was ready add the vegetables and fill the pancakes.

Expectation for a new semester.

This is mi last year at Universidad de chile, it's the most difficult year in the program, also I had to take a lot of subjects that I reproved , but I know that I can finish this year with all my mates.

It's really difficult to me because I have too leave my son for longer time in the playschool, and I really miss him a lot . But all this sacrifice is for him.

This semester I'm going to do sculpture with steels , and that has me really excited. I hope that this semester is the best of my life. 

The next year I have to do my thesis, that is something terrifies me. I dont know how I started whit that, and this year I want to start thinking in what I goin to do. And after thata I want to travel with my son, and go to the countrysides and have a lot of pets.

MY FAVOURITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY

In this Christmas I received a present from Santa, the most expected gift, a professional photographic camera, in that moment it was the most perfect pressent for me, because I would travel to Bolivia with me friend Rose and I didn't have a camera to take pictures of that beautiful place. 

Now I use my camera to take a lot of pictures and make very funny videos of my friends. Also I go to concerts and take pictures of that. I like my camera because I can record important momment of my life and use them in my artistic productions.

I can't image my life without my camera, I clould not make record of my works, and that clould affect my records at university. I hope have my camera for a lot of time and grow old taking pictures.

My very short auto-biography

My name is Valentina Bravo, I was born in 1992 in viña del mar, but I lived all my childhood in a little town called El tabo, all my family is from there. My family came to santiago to live, and we live in this city at this time.

I studied in a alternative school called Altamira in primary, after that I went to a catholic school called Santo domingo, there I finished my secondary studies. At present I study arts at Universidad de Chile.

I live with my mom, my litle brother and mi beautiful Son, his names is Máximo Guerrero, he is three years old and is the best of my life.

I don't have much time to hobbis, in my free time I try to enjoy my little Son, playing with him, going to the cinema and making him happy.

When I was a child goes to the kinder garden during the moorning, I arrived to my house in the afternoon, when I get inside my houste the first thing that I does was turn on the TV, sit down in the couch and see the cartoons. My favorite series was the power rangers, the story of 5 teenagers that saved the word from the evil Rita Repulsa, who tried to dominate the word with the help of wicked patrolmans and a lot of terrible monsters that she can make grow up with her magic stick. The power rangers recived help from Zordor, a sorcerer that figth again evil forses of Rita Repulsa. In the comand centre Zordor comunicated though a screen with the power rangers.
My favorite caracter was the pink power ranger, her name was Kimberly. I used played with my friends at the power rangers and I always be the pink ranger.
